Social & Community Marketing Manager – CLOSED

September 26, 2018
G&T

Sipsmith was started in 2009 by our founders Fairfax and Sam with the mission to open the first copper distillery in London in almost 200 years and bring London Dry Gin back to its home; made the way it used to be and we think should be. Since then we’ve grown tremendously, acquiring new stills, recruiting new drinkers and building on our great team as well moving premises to a new site in Chiswick, West London. Moreover, we’ve recently joined forces with Beam Suntory, a company which values heritage, craftsmanship and people as much as we do and the opportunities for our team and brand are now even more exciting.

– Global Social Media Lead – Sipsmith UK is the central hub for a global social media strategy. This role will involve collaborating with international teams to create and implement social and digital strategies in global markets, providing feedback on monthly content calendars and reviewing performance.

– Day to Day Social Media Management

A key part of this role is to be the voice of the Sipsmith brand online, responding to comments and answering questions from our followers across all of the social networks where Sipsmith has a presence. We want everyone to be able to strike up a conversation with us at the Distillery no matter where they are in the world and you will be their main point of contact, dispensing anything from cocktail advice to interesting gin related tidbits. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Sipsmith social media content calendar and ensuring that all of our content is strategically distributed so it’s seen by as many of our sippers as possible.

Growing the Sipsmith Online Following

Growing our online following and ensuring we are spreading the Sipsmith word to as many people as possible will be one of your fundamental objectives, and you’ll have experience of managing a growing social network, with plenty of tricks up your sleeve to attract new followers. You’ll be working across our existing networks, as well as identifying new and exciting places where Sipsmith should have an online presence. A strong strategic focus is necessary and you’ll have a growth plan for Sipsmith online, ensuring we are attracting the correct people and that our online community of sippers stay engaged and active.

Community Management

As well as managing our social networks, you will be an advocate of the Sipsmith brand online, connecting with potential customers and boosting awareness of the Sipsmith brand in all of the most influential online areas. Building relationships with key online influencers, bloggers and stakeholders within the spirits and gin communities will help you to build an army of advocates that will champion our cause.

Data Reporting and Analysis

You will be analytically minded and confident working with Google Analytics and social analysis tools to provide full reports of all Sipsmith social activity online. As well as weekly reporting to ensure we are meeting growth and engagement targets, you will be comfortable providing analysis of our campaigns and events, identifying what we did well and opportunities for improvement.

Content Creation

Creating original, engaging content for our social networks and website will be an essential element of the role and you should be teeming with ideas to help build the visibility and credibility of the Sipsmith brand online. This will involve working closely with our In-House Creative to ensure there is a steady flow of useful, entertaining and relevant content being distributed by Sipsmith online. You will be a confident copy writer who has no trouble adapting to the Sipsmith tone of voice, as well as have an eye for identifying content that can be ‘curated’ by Sipsmith and redistributed as part of our content strategy.

Other Responsibilities

– Running Sipsmith Distillery Tours and assisting at various events across the season

– Supporting the On-Trade and Off-Trade teams with social media support for various trade events

Final notes

Our perfect candidate will exude the natural confidence and charisma needed to manage our army of sipping advocates online, with a passion for reaching out to people and spreading the word of Sipsmith Gin online.

You will be working as part of a team to create innovative and exciting joined up campaigns that push the boundaries of social media use in the spirits world, and have an eye for emerging trends in online marketing.

The role requires creativity, commitment and hard work in equal measure as you will be required to put in the occasional evening or weekend to update our sippers on out-of-hours Sipsmith fun.
