This is our take on the Smoking Bishop, featured at the end of a Christmas Carol, when Ebenezer de Scrooge invites Bob Cratchit to have a drink with him by the fire.
- 1 Part London Dry Gin
- 1/2 Part Cointreau®
- 3 Parts Claret
- 1 Part Water
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 wheels fresh orange
- 3 cloves
- Gently heat claret, water, herbs and orange in a sauce pan
- Leave it to simmer for 5 minutes then pour into a mug or thick glass
- Add the gin and Cointreau
- Garnish with an orange wheel
