This is our take on the Smoking Bishop, featured at the end of a Christmas Carol, when Ebenezer de Scrooge invites Bob Cratchit to have a drink with him by the fire.

Ingredients
  • 1 Part London Dry Gin
  • 1/2 Part Cointreau®
  • 3 Parts Claret
  • 1 Part Water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 wheels fresh orange
  • 3 cloves
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Gently heat claret, water, herbs and orange in a sauce pan
  2. Leave it to simmer for 5 minutes then pour into a mug or thick glass
  3. Add the gin and Cointreau
  4. Garnish with an orange wheel
