From cocktail parties to home-cooked meals, from Christmas Eve to Christmas Morning, there are few festive occasions that aren’t improved by a spot of bubbly. Below, find five of the best cocktail recipes for those after something sparkling (plus a few of our favourite hosting tips).

French 75

French 75

Gin and Champagne are excellent bedfellows, as the timeless French 75 goes to show. Save this crowd-pleasing sparkler for a celebratory toast.

40ml Sipsmith London Dry Gin

25ml freshly squeezed lemon juice

15ml cane or gomme syrup

Champagne or Prosecco

Lemon twist, to garnish

Combine the gin, lemon juice, and syrup in an ice-filled cocktail shaker, and shake well. Strain into a flute or coupe and top up with Champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Sloe Royale

15ml Sipsmith Lemon Drizzle Gin

Prosecco

Lemon twist, to garnish

Pour the Lemon Drizzle Gin into a chilled flute. Top up with Prosecco, and garnish with a lemon twist.

Millionaire’s Martini

The Millionaire’s Martini may be an easy gin cocktail to make, but its simplicity and elegance add to its allure. To make it even quicker, pre-batch the gin and vermouth and prep your lemons before guests arrive.

40ml Sipsmith London Dry Gin

40ml dry vermouth

Champagne

Lemon twist, to garnish

Combine the gin and vermouth in an ice-filled mixing glass, and stir until cold. Strain into a chilled coupe glass and top up with Champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.

St. Clement’s Fizz 

As far as gin and Prosecco cocktails go, it’s hard to do better than the St. Clement’s Fizz. Made with our citrus-perfumed Lemon Drizzle Gin as well as orange juice, it’s ideal for a Christmas gin brunch or other midday occasion.

20ml Sipsmith Lemon Drizzle Gin

10ml sweet vermouth

50ml orange juice (preferably freshly squeezed)

Champagne or Prosecco

Orange twist, to garnish

Combine the gin, vermouth and orange juice in an ice-filled shaker, and shake well. Double strain into a chilled flute and top with Champagne or Prosecco. Garnish with an orange twist.
