From Sipping to Sanitiser: Supporting Imperial College London

in Distillery News May 6, 2020

Here at Sipsmith, whilst we are always looking for ginovative ways to craft our outrageously good gin, during these unprecedented times we’ve turned our priorities to continuously finding new ways to put our alcohol to more important use than just sipping (if that could even be possible).

Therefore, we have made the decision to hang up our distillery hats, turn off our stills and instead donate our alcohol to the leading experts at Imperial College London. To date, we have donated 10,000 litres of alcohol, which will go on to clean up to 4 million hands within the NHS Trust.

Working together with the incredible experts at Imperial College allows us to help produce more hand sanitiser than we could ever make ourselves here in the distillery. It doesn’t mean to say our skilful Distillers aren’t still hard at work – whilst our stills may be silent, the team are busy working from home, experimenting with new innovative flavours for you all to enjoy in the future.

To discover more about our production process, and what happens to our alcohol that doesn’t make it in our carefully crafted gin, find out here.

If you have any questions about our alcohol donation, how we craft our gin, or just fancy a chin-wag, please do send us a message on social media @sipsmith, or email [email protected].
