More Product Information

Our distillers have captured all that’s delicious about banana bread and bottled it to create this triple banana, sweet gin.

Some people start the new year with resolutions like dry January and early morning spinning classes, but our Distiller Ellie is most definitely more of a fan of Ginuary. Being an avid baker and a skilled distiller, this year she set her mind to reducing waste. Making use of leftover bananas in the Sipsmith kitchen, inspiration struck and her delicious Banana Bread Gin was born! Fresh and dried banana plus banana peel were rested overnight on our smallest still, Cygnet, before distilling on our London Dry Gin.

To simply enjoy this decadent home comfort, simply top 50ml gin with ginger ale and garnish with a fresh orange wedge.

The Nose: Just-peeled, ripe bananas with a light, sweet spice.

The Palate: A hint of sweet banana, rich vanilla and honey.

The Finish: A long, creamy mouthfeel of light cinnamon, candied banana and a touch caramel.

Reviews

  1. I thought this sounded horrible, as I don’t by and large like banana flavoured things (although conversely I do like banana bread) BUT I really loved it with ginger ale. It has just a hint of banana afterwards much like the chocolate orange gin has just a hint of chocolate. A winner in my book. Would like a big bottle of this one.

  2. It somehow doesn’t allow me to give it 5 stars but this was my favorite and I would definitely buy a big bottle of this one. Tastes great with actual banana bread as a little side snack. 🙂

  3. Banana Bread gin: shake with ice for 5 seconds or so (or pour over ice and stir if you don’t have a cocktail shaker). Drain into a thin walled glass (maybe a sherry glass or similar). No tonic, no ice, just gin. Delicious.

  4. Made up the Banana Singapore Sling but switched out the cherry hearing for cassis – ’twas yummy

  5. Absolutely loved this gin….tried it as a reinvented old fashioned with rum. Couldn’t get enough of it and was disappointed when the small bottle ran out.
