Spring has sprung! And the new season brings with it all the hallmarks of warm-weather sipping, from long serves and fresh berries to vibrant herbs and bright citrus. Join us in a spirited celebration: these five spring cocktail recipes are perfect for gin lovers looking to raise a glass.
GIN BASIL SMASH
Delicately green and reminiscent of growing things, the Gin Basil Smash—first dreamed up by Hamburg-based bartender Joerg Meyer in 2008—is an essential spring cocktail recipe to have on hand.
- 2 1/2 parts Sipsmith® London Dry Gin
- 1 part freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 part simple syrup
- 12 basil leaves (plus more to garnish)
Gently muddle the basil leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and the remaining three ingredients. Seal, shake well, and double strain into an ice-filled tumbler. Garnish with additional basil leaves.
LEMON DRIZZLE MOJITO
A refreshing Lemon Drizzle Mojito is perfect for spring sipping.
Put your Lemon Drizzle Gin to good use and give it a starring role in this long, zesty number.
- 2 1/2 parts Sipsmith Lemon Drizzle Gin
- 3/4 part freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3/4 part freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 part simple syrup
- 8-10 mint leaves, plus more to garnish
- Chilled soda water, to top
- Raspberry, to garnish
- Lemon twist, to garnish
Put the first five ingredients in a highball glass. Fill with crushed ice and churn with a long handled spoon. Top with more crushed ice and chilled soda water. Garnish with a sprig of mint, raspberry, and lemon twist.
FIG-ET ME NOT
Redolent of juicy figs, this decadent spring cocktail—a riff on a classic sour—is the perfect way to toast the season.
- 2 parts Sipsmith London Dry Gin
- 1 part Crème de Figue®
- 1 part freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 part simple syrup
- 1 egg white or vegan alternative
- Dash of Angostura® bitters
- Sliced fig, to garnish
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and dry shake. Add ice to the shaker, seal, and shake again. Double strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with the sliced fig and a swirl of bitters.
DAISY
The Daisy is a classic spring number that’s been savored for centuries.
In honor of the daisies that are popping up all over town, whip up a classic, refreshing Daisy.
- 2 parts Sipsmith London Dry Gin
- 1 part freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/3 part pomegranate syrup (or grenadine)
- Chilled soda water, to top
- Seasonal berries, to garnish
Add first three ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake. Strain into an ice-filled glass. Top with chilled soda water and garnish with seasonal berries and a straw.
HOP COLLINS

- Good-quality lager or pale ale, to top
- Lemon twist, to garnish
Combine the first three ingredients in an ice filled cocktail shaker. Shake well and double strain into a chilled glass. Top with chilled beer and garnish with a lemon twist.
