The Story

If one were to take a turn around the cobbled streets of York in the mid 1700s, one may well stumble upon a tiny sweet shop called Terry’s of York, founded by Joseph Terry, the inventor of the glorious chocolate orange. We set out to bring this popular British sweet treat back to its British roots, in liquid form. With a two-pronged approach to this confectionary delight, we crafted a syrup from raw cacao nibs and fresh orange peel and left it to macerate while we distilled a combination of coffee, black cardamom, vanilla, orange blossom and cacao nibs. Blending the syrup and gin together at the end created a perfect marriage between the sweet creamy chocolate and the wonderfully zingy orange. Sip on its own over ice or stir down a decadent Old Fashioned.
