Are you a Zesty Sipper? Find out here with just a few simple questions. Zesty Sippers will be pleased to find our talented distillers have lovingly laboured over not one, but two citrus gins, which are crafted especially with you in mind. Read on to discover what serves we’ve hand-picked just for you.
We all know that it’s a hand-picked blend of botanicals that gives each gin its unique flavour, and the same goes for our citrus gins. From the sun-dried lemon peel and lemon verbena of our Lemon Drizzle Gin, to the fresh orange peel and zingy zest that gives our Zesty Orange Gin its flavour.
1. ZESTY ORANGE HOT CHOCOLATE
We partnered with fellow B Corp and ultimate chocolate, Tony’s Chocolonely, to create our ginny take on the ultimate winter treat, the hot chocolate.
To mix a Zesty Orange Hot Chocolate at home, firstly crush 65g Tony’s Chocolonely and add to a pan with 300ml milk. Stir on a low heat until combined and steaming, then pour into a heatproof glass or mug and add 50ml Sipsmith Zesty Orange Gin. Stir to combine before topping with whipped cream and fresh orange zest. Best sipped by a roaring fire on a winter’s evening.
2. LEMON DRIZZLE 75
A classic French 75 always features freshly squeezed lemon juice, but our Lemon Drizzle 75 dials up the citrus with the addition of our lemon gin. Simply pour 35ml Sipsmith Lemon Drizzle Gin, 20ml freshly squeezed lemon juice and 10ml sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake well to combine the ingredients and then strain into a Champagne flute or coupe. Top up with chilled Champagne or prosecco and garnish with a lemon peel twist.
3. ZESTY ORANGE SPRITZ
Crafted with sun-kissed afternoons and summer evenings in mind, our Zesty Orange Gin meets fizz in this refreshingly bright sip. Make your Zesty Orange Spritz by combining 25ml Sipsmith Zesty Orange Gin and 12.5ml sugar syrup in an ice-filled glass.
Then add an even mix of chilled soda water and prosecco (around 100ml each). Next, ‘lift’ the drink with a long-handled bar spoon or drinks stirrer from the bottom and mix gently in order to maintain the fizz. Finally, garnish with a large orange twist.
4. LEMON DRIZZLE MOJITO
The next time you feel like a refreshingly tropical Mojito, swap out the traditional rum and replace it with Lemon Drizzle Gin for our take on the classic Mojito recipe. Pour 50ml Sipsmith Lemon Drizzle Gin, 15ml lemon juice, 15ml lime juice, 20ml sugar syrup and 8-10 mint leaves in a glass. Churn with crushed ice and then top up with more crushed ice and soda water, before garnishing with a sprig of mint and a fresh lemon twist. This citrus cocktail is not only refreshing, there’s also a deliciously herbaceous edge thanks to the addition of mint and citrus juice.
5. LEMON DRIZZLE G&T
Let’s start with a Lemon Drizzle G&T. This refreshing, citrusy twist on a classic gin and tonic is satisfyingly simple and refreshing, and crafted with our Lemon Drizzle Gin.
Simply fill a highball glass with ice, pour over 50ml Sipsmith Lemon Drizzle Gin and top up with Fever-Tree Mediterranean tonic water. Use our Swan Drinks Stirrer or bar spoon to ‘lift’ the drink and combine the ingredients, before garnishing with a wedge or twist of fresh lemon.
